How to present a cartoon?

 

  

 

A few tips: first watch the cartoon carefully to find:

 

   

1) the cartoonist's name  

2) the origin of the cartoon

3) the date of publication,  

   

secondly study the characters when possible to recognize:  

   

4) a famous person  

or 5) a stereotype

or 6) the nationality

   

 

thirdly study the surroundings:

     

7) try to see if it is important for the meaning of the cartoon  

8) pay attention to colours and actions of the characters 

9) find the link between the characters and the surroundings

 

   

then study the speech when possible:

     

10) pay attention to the captions  

11) find the link between the characters' speeches and the surroundings  

   

finally find the message of the cartoon:

     

12) Is it to warn people? to laugh at the dramatic situation? to support the ideas conveyed by the theme?  

   

 give your opinion on the cartoon :

   

 

13) Is it successful? why? why not?  

14) Do you feel concerned by the subject in the cartoon?
